TRAVERTIN

Travertine is a sedimentary limestone rock, widely used in construction, especially in Rome, since I millennium BC. The Travertine color depends on oxides, which has built-in (which happens quite easily, being by nature a fairly porous stone). The natural color varies from white milk to walnut, through various shades from yellow to red. It frequently meets fossil footprints of animals and plants.
